Healing does not happen in a vacuum. The environment you live in can either support your recovery or actively hinder it. In Islamic tradition, the “house” (Al-Bayt) is more than just a physical building; it is a spiritual domain that can be inhabited by angels or neglected by them depending on what happens inside.
Why Your House Matters
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Make some of your prayers in your homes and do not make them like graveyards.” (Bukhari). A house where Allah is not remembered becomes heavy, dark, and vulnerable to spiritual harm (Jinn/Shaytan).
The Indicators of a “Heavy” House
- Constant Arguments: Unexplained tension between family members.
- Physical Heaviness: Feeling drowsy or claustrophobic for no reason.
- Night Terrors: Frequent nightmares or sleep disturbances for residents.
- Remove all statues and pictures of living beings from walls and shelves.
- Recite Surah Al-Baqarah aloud in the house every 3 days.
- Perform your Sunnah prayers at home.
- Say 'Bismillah' when entering and closing doors/windows at Maghrib.
- Playing music that glorifies haram or despair in the house.
- Keeping dogs inside the living areas (they prevent angels of mercy).
- Collecting 'mystical' objects or amulets (Tamimah) - these invite harm.
- Leaving the house empty or without Dhikr for long periods.
Cleaning the Environment
If you feel your house is afflicted, you can use “Ruqyah Water” to clean the space:
- The Water: Take a spray bottle of water.
- The Recitation: Recite Surah Al-Fatiha, Ayatul Kursi, and the 3 Quls over it.
- The Action: Spray the corners of every room (except the toilet) with the intention of protection.

Reciting the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah at night protects the house until the morning.
